ABOUT

What do you do at Keystone?

I am in charge of rebuilding drill rigs at the Somerset branch location. I also maintain all of the on-the-road service work for drill rigs in the better part of the US.

What is your favorite part of working at Keystone?

I am going to be honest, the breakfast on Fridays is what does it for me, but in all seriousness, I love what I do. I enjoy troubleshooting problems and coming up with a solution to make the customer's machine function properly like it's supposed to.

What was your background before joining Keystone?

I have always worked on things since I was a kid. I would take stuff apart and try to make it better. I was a coal miner for 12 years. My job was to keep the equipment underground running to load coal. This job taught me a lot of the work ethic I have today. It was a lot of long hours working in some miserable conditions.

EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

What is one thing customers and coworkers can always count on you for?

They can count on me to be honest and treat them as I would want to be treated. I always put myself in the customers' shoes and try to save them from down time and excessive financial burden. Most of the customers I deal with run a mom and pop operation and only have one drill rig, so I try to accommodate them in any way to keep them drilling, because if they can't drill, they can not make money to pay bills and payroll.

What project, accomplishment, or experience at Keystone are you most proud of?

I have had so many projects at Keystone I couldn't really pick one. I just love to see the comparisons between before-and-after pictures when a drill rig gets a rebuild; a lot of times it's hard to believe it was even the same machine.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids. I also like to go off-roading and build my Jeep, and I also work in the garage when I have time.

What are your goals for the future?

My goals would be to learn new things and continue to challenge myself.

What excites you most about Keystone’s future?

I am excited to get the ball rolling on building new TH60s and hopefully expanding the drill rig division.
